I respond to the research question from inside the contradiction it names. Much of my work has been about creating collective cultural forms — publications, assemblies, media projects, speculative worlds — while also encountering the familiar instability of cultural labour: unpaid preparation, delayed funding, fragile teams, dependency on grants, and the difficulty of turning attention into livelihood. I do believe we can imagine and organise an art world that is economically sustainable for the people working in it, but only if we treat the economic form as part of the artwork. The question is not simply how to fund artists, but how to design infrastructures where cultural workers co-own the systems that publish, circulate, govern and remember their work. I am particularly interested in models such as platform cooperatives, rotating funds, community currencies, commons trusts and DAOs, while also being frustrated by how often digital promises reproduce speculation, hierarchy or unpaid labour. My current work on community-owned, AI-native publishing gives me a live context for these questions, but I am applying to join a collective lab, not to impose a finished model. I would like to contribute narrative framing, governance imagination and practical prototyping toward an economic model that cultural workers could actually use.
