David Bovill is a writer, organiser and creative director working across participatory publishing, media, AI governance and commons-based cultural infrastructure. He is based in London and is developing Hitchhikers.earth, a mutually owned publishing ecology for living Guides: AI-native cultural artefacts maintained by communities of human and non-human contributors. His work combines speculative design, cooperative governance, dialogue processes, media production and experimental legal and economic forms for shared cultural ownership. He is interested in how cultural workers can co-own the infrastructures that organise attention, knowledge, rights and value, rather than depending on extractive platforms or temporary project funding. David is also involved in Re:Govern and related work around democratic innovation, AI governance and community-owned media. His current research explores Requests for Guidance, Proofs of Understanding, rotating funds, mutual publishing, and the possibility of creating solidarity economies for living cultural knowledge.
